PRIME HOGGS- Demand for hoggs stays strong.

Junction 36 held its weekly sale of prime hoggs which saw the usual strong ringside of buyers faced with a large mixture of quality. Heavy sheep were met with slightly more resistance on the week, however handy weight types continue to be a very attractive trade
M & YS Barker sells 44kg hoggs to £190 or 431.8ppk. Lighter ones from the same home sold to £160.00. 39kg hoggs from Messers R T Colbear sold to £154. Good fed sheep also a joy to sell with Messers Butler getting £169 for a pen of 4 46kg Texels. A pair of Charollais from the same and slightly lighter hit £160. Heavy sheep received less demand from buyers, however the fitter end was still a good trade. Messers Little sold to £187 for his heaviest end.
